Children’s Collection

The Children’s Collection offers a wealth of materials: books and magazines, audio and video cassettes, DVDs, foreign language materials, CD ROM computers, and children’s reference materials. Booklists and literature indexes provide reading lists on a variety of topics, from historical fiction to holiday books, children’s poetry, biographies, and fiction and non-fiction books.

Book-Sharing Programs

Library volunteers and staff strive to meet the unique developmental needs of children of all ages through its literature programs. Parents are asked to respect the age requirements listed to enhance program quality.

Ages 1 to 2: Toddler Story Time. Friday mornings at 10:30, repeated at 11:30. Songs and simple stories are enhanced with arts and crafts activities appropriate for the very young. Doors close promptly at times listed, and children must have an adult in attendance.

Ages 3 to 6: Preschool Story Time. Monday mornings at 10:30, repeated at 11:30. More challenging stories, poetry, and crafts encourage school readiness. Doors close promptly at times listed

Children of all ages: Grandparents & Books. If the ages of your children do not coincide with traditional Story Time requirements, the Grandparents & Books program is the answer. Books are shared on an informal basis in the afternoon at the Library, and volunteer grandparents select a variety of literature appropriate for all children. Call Kris at 237-3870.
