Save the Date - Midsummer Magic 2010!
March 9, 2010- The "Magic" is back! Mark your calendars now for the much awaited return of Midsummer Magic, the signature fundraising event of the Paso Robles Library Foundation. The event is slated for Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the City Library at 1000 Spring Street in Paso Robles.
After over 10 years of planning elaborate Midsummer Magic galas, the Library Foundation took a hiatus to regroup and rediscover what the public most enjoyed about our event,” explains City Librarian, Julie Dahlen. "We have now recharged Midsummer Magic with a vintage Vegas theme, including a casino, dancing, fine wines, frosty beer and hearty appetizers. The ever-popular silent auction will be back as well, giving attendees the opportunity to take home an array of extravagant gift baskets.
And in true Vegas tradition, partygoers are reminded that “What happens at the Library stays at the Library!" All funds raised at Midsummer Magic stay right here in our own City Library to fund materials, online databases and programs—including the annual Summer Reading Program for all ages. According to Dahlen, "Last summer alone, over 1,000 children, teens and adults enjoyed free reading incentive programs in the Library, funded primarily by our Library Foundation."
Tickets will be sold at the Paso Robles City Library starting May 15. In the meantime, check out the event website at www.midsummermagic.com.

Book Group Reading Kits
Attention All Book Group Members!
November 17, 2009- Last year, the Paso Robles City Library added a new collection just for Book Groups: Reading Group Kits which include ten copies of a proven title and laminated discussion questions – all in a handy book bag for easy transportation. These kits have been in such demand that this year the Library has more than doubled its collection size! Designed to aid local book groups, Reading Group Kits ensure that each member has a copy of the title to read and that the discussion is thought provoking. Kits check out for six weeks to give groups plenty of time to read and discuss the title before they must be returned.
