CARDBOARD & PAPER PRODUCTS
Books
There are endless ways to "recycle" books. Yard sale,
friends, local library (Paso Robles Library does accept them,
visit the Library Support page for details), and used bookstores.
For a listing of places that accept or even buy used books, visit
the
IWMA Used Books page.
Cardboard
There are a few ways to dispose of your cardboard in the City of Paso Robles.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility, the Paso Robles Landfill
and Paso Robles Recycling all accept cardboard and Paso Robles
Waste Disposal will pick up small amounts in your blue bin
recyclables for pickup on your regular trash day or you can drop
it off in the large containers provided at their Riverside Avenue
location. For other locations throughout SLO County that
accept cardboard, visit the
IWMA Cardboard Recycling Page.
Junk
Mail
Recycle junk mail? Most of us want to STOP it
altogether! Actually, this section will provide ways to work
towards both. You can place junk mail in your blue bin for
curbside pickup by Paso Robles Waste Disposal along with all your
other recyclables. Think about what you're putting in the
bin though, and make sure you haven't provided a means for
identity theft (name, social security, account numbers, etc.).
Now for the really good part, visit the
IWMA Junk
Mail page for ways to get off mailing lists and stop that
junk mail!
Magazines
Magazines are one of the more expensive things to recycle because
there is not a market for recycled paper of this type. There
are however, several unique ways to "recycle" your used magazines.
- Paso Robles Public Library accepts them. Donations of weekly magazines up to 3 weeks old and monthly magazines up to 2 years old are accepted at the library or the Friends Store during regular business hours. Visit the Library Support page for details.
- Schools and churches often need old magazines for children's projects. Check the local phone book for phone numbers.
- Craft/Hobby Stores may be able to pass on gently read hobby/craft magazines. Check the local phone book for stores.
If you only have a very few to recycle, you can put them in your blue bin for curbside pickup by Paso Robles Waste Disposal. The Landfill and Paso Robles Recycling also accept magazines.
For more information and other suggested places to take your glossies, visit the IWMA page on recycling magazines.
Newspaper
Newspaper is acceptable in the blue bins provided by Paso
Robles Waste Disposal for their curbside recycling program.
You can even include the glossy ads that come in the paper.
Paso Robles Recycling also accepts newspapers as does the Paso
Robles Landfill.
Office Paper
Paso Robles Waste Disposal provides large bags, carts or bins
to Businesses for office paper (both colored and white).
Pickups are done on Tuesdays and Thursdays on a will call or
weekly basis. Contact Paso Robles Waste Disposal for program
details. At home, paper can be put into the blue bin for
curbside pickup with all of your other recyclables.

(bagged please) at their Riverside Avenue location.
Phone Books

recycling or taken to a Buy Back center. Visit the
