10 Year Street Maintenance Plan
The City's Annual Street Maintenance is funded from Gas Tax received from the State of California. Approximately $400,000 to $450,000 is currently received annually. It is hoped that the City will receive more in future years. The current ten year list for street maintenance can be downloaded here.

Theatre Drive Realignment
The City has Federal Stimulus Funds to realign Theatre Drive at its connection to Highway 46 West. It will be relocated approximately 900 feet to the west. The project is out to bid with the bid opening schedule for August 19,  2010. Work is expected to begin in the Fall of 2010 and be completed by Fall 2011. Click here for latest update, August 2011.

46 East
The City, in partnership with Caltrans and the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG), has a project to improve operations at the intersection of Highway 101 and 46 East. The proposed improvements are:
a) modify the 13th Street overcrossing over State Highway 101 by reconstructing the curb returns at Riverside and the concrete barriers on both sides of the overcrossing;
b) relocate the 16th Street off-ramp from Highway 101 to 17th Street;
c) install a new southbound on-ramp to Highway 101 at 17th Street;
d) add a second lane to the existing southbound State Route 101 entrance ramp at the State Route 101/46 East interchange;
e) re-stripe State Route 101/46 East traveled way to include a second left turn lane from westbound 46 onto the southbound 101 ramp;
f) add a southbound auxiliary lane between Highway 46 and the new on/off-ramps at 17th Street;
g) install a meter at the Spring Street/First Street southbound on-ramp to Highway 101.

Funding for the project is primarily from a State grant which was approved in July 2010. The environmental document was approved in May 2010. The City hopes to award a contract by the end of 2010, but the Notice to Proceed will be delayed to early Fall 2011 as requested by Caltrans. Caltrans has a project to install a concrete median barrier on Highway 101 from 24th Street to the Niblick Bridge and they do not want the City's contractor to be working at this location while they are working.

Riverside Avenue
The City is using a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to improve Riverside Avenue across from the Paso Robles Event Center. Work includes:
- installation of concrete sidewalk
- installation of ornamental light fixtures
- installation of street trees.
The contract was awarded to C3 Construction and Development of Paso Robles. Work is expected to begin late Fall 2010 and be completed by early 2011.
