ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Organizational Structure
The Paso Robles Police Department is divided into three (3) divisions:
Administration
The Chief of Police, a Captain, and two Lieutenants comprise the Administrative team. The Captain reports directly to the Chief, and assumes her duties in her absence. The Lieutenants primarily work as Station Commanders for the day and night patrol shifts. They are accountable for day-to-day operational and policy decisions as well as making recommendations to the Chief in promotional and disciplinary matters.
Operations Division
The Operations Division consists of uniform patrol, traffic safety and reserve programs, K-9, Special Response Team, Narcotics Task Force and Community Oriented Policing (COP).
Support Services Division
The Support Services Division consists of the Investigations Program (Detectives), Communications Program, Records Program and the Community Services Program, including; Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), Police Activities League (PAL), Community Volunteer Patrol Program, and other community-based services.
