Quang Ho Workshop

Monday, May 26 – Wednesday, May 28, 2014
9 AM – 4 PM
Studios on the Park, 1130 Pine Street

Workshops with master artist Quang Ho are a rare and special occasion. His reputation and enthusiastic following precede his much anticipated arrival in Paso Robles.

Designed for intermediate and advanced plein air oil painters, Quang’s workshop will give students the opportunity to learn what goes into making a good painting regardless of subject matter, and the importance of understanding the visual vocabulary. Students will work with still-lifes and landscapes mainly, but instruction will also cover how to use reference materials, such as photography, correctly.

Held in Paso Robles, students will have the opportunity to paint in a classroom setting as well as outdoors at area sites, offering views of vineyards, oak studded hills, and the Pacific Ocean. Quang will begin each day with a demonstration and discussion followed by instruction in the morning. In the afternoon, students will choose their subject matter with Quang overseeing each participant’s painting, and the day will close with a critique. The workshop hours will be approximately 9 am to 4 pm with an hour break for lunch.
