Horsekeeping Permits
Horsekeeping permits are regulated under PRMC 21.20.100. Such permits may be granted by Staff subject to performance standards relating to the maximum number of horses on a parcel, the minimum lot size, providing adequate drainage and manure disposal, and setbacks for stables and corrals. Under certain conditions, a horsekeeping permit may be subject to a Conditional Use Permit and require Planning Commission approval.
Zoning Ordinance Interpretations
In a specific situation where the appropriate application of the zoning ordinance is in question, the City staff may make a determination on the interpretation. A written decision based on all relevant facts is provided to the applicant, and a copy is forwarded to the Planning Commission. Staff may elect to present the zoning interpretation to the Development Review Committee for a decision.
Zoning Code Compliance
City staff is empowered to conduct research and determine whether or not a building or structure is in compliance with the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance. A written decision based on the relevant facts is provided to the applicant, and a copy is forwarded to the Planning Commission. Staff may elect to present the zoning compliance determination to the Development Review Committee for review and final action.
