DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Staff
Ken Johnson, Chief (e-mail)
Kevin Taylor, Battalion Chief
(e-mail)
Emergency Services is staffed by 21 shift personnel (6 captains and 15 firefighters), one fire chief (read the Chief's Message), two battalion chiefs, and a secretary. The department consists of three fire stations located on the west and east side of the Salinas River and the third at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport. The shift personnel (firefighters) are divided into three shifts, each shift working a 24-hour day (56-hour work week).
In a rapidly growing community our personnel are continuously asked to take on greater responsibilities, while responding to an ever-increasing call volume. Above all, our personnel are trained to perform the operations of the Department under the most severe conditions. The mission of the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services is to Survive, Prevent Harm and Be Nice.
