Carnegie Library Retrofit and Upgrade
The City's historic Carnegie Library was damaged during the 2003 San Simeon Earthquake. Newton Construction was awarded the contract to perform the repair and retrofit work. It should be completed by the end of 2008.

Salinas River Corridor Plan
The City received a technical assistance grant from the National Park Services to assist staff in preparing a Master Corridor Plan and create a vision in and around the Salinas River to enhance its open space and recreational trail capabilities.
