South Vine Street
Groundbreaking for the South
Vine widening and bike lane improvements project was March 11,
2009. The project
will widen the existing two traffic lanes, add two new bike
lanes, and install new curbs and gutters. South Vine
improvements have been on the City’s priority list for several
years. Construction is now possible with the help of funding
from several Federal and State grants.
Project engineer: Cannon Associates
Project construction: Rockwood General Contractors
South Vine will remain open during construction.
River Road
River Road, from the north to south City limits, is under
construction for installation of City sewerlines and storm
drains, the Nacimiento Water Project pipeline, and AT&T
conduits. Current status on both the City's and the County's construction projects on River
Road can be found on the City's Web page covering street closures and construction
zones.
Highway 101 / 46 West Environmental Documents
Caltrans has approved the PSR for the 101/46W interchange.
Several design concepts were analyzed, with construction costs
ranging from 24 million to 60 million dollars. These costs do
not include design, permitting fees, construction
administration, soils testing and field survey, which could add
another 25 to 30 percent to project costs. The environmental documents are complete and
a public workshop was held June 25, 2008. The City and Caltrans
will review and provides responses to the public's comments.
10 Year Street Maintenance Plan
The City's Annual Street Maintenance is funded from Gas Tax
received from the State of California. Approximately $400,000 to
$450,000 is currently received annually. It is hoped that the
City will receive more in future years. The current
ten year list for street maintenance can be downloaded here.
