MONITORING SYSTEM
The City uses a central computer to monitor and control the wells, booster pumps and reservoirs. This system is called SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition). The system can also be accessed by our Water Division personnel remotely using password protection. The SCADA system is used to monitor the system, control certain activities, and even troubleshoot communication hardware at remote sites.
The Storage Monitoring Screen allows monitoring present reservoir (tank) levels it also shows the previous 24-hour trend.
The Main Control Screen allows monitoring of all water wells (running or idle), reservoir levels, and booster pump discharge pressures. Should the operator need to modify system operation (For example, turn on a specific well) the SCADA system allows the command from the keyboard at a remote location.
The Well Control Screen can effect well operations on or off, schedule runtimes, monitor flow rates and set on/off points.
