The ever-popular Race Car Camp, held March 25 - 27, 2008, found 35 energetic race car drivers, ages 5 – 9, earning their camp race car driver’s license. Competing in all types of racing, including a relay where the racers changed tires, the kids loved every minute of this fun, high-energy camp. The highlight of the event was the final race where drivers raced their own cars, complete with flashing tail lights. Students from the Oak Park Leadership program were at each pit stop teaching the kids about racing, including how to change oil. Kudos to the racers and the staff that made the camp such a success – and a special thank you to Martin Meraz and Dan Vetjsa for their amazingly creative ideas! Click on the images below to enlarge:
