"The Age of Innocence"

This Oscar Award Winning movie is a story of a 19th century New York high society family. A young lawyer, played by Daniel Day-Lewis, has always lived by societies rules, falls in love with a woman named Ellen, who separated from her husband, while he is engaged to Ellen’s cousin. Ellen, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, lives by her own rules and fascinates this young lawyer.

Gary's Trip to the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean is a very important route for merchants and travelers of ancient times that allowed for trade and cultural exchange between emergent people of the region and Gary will share with us all about his travels through this historical land.

Gary Kuhn, retired World History/English teacher from Atascadero High School, presents unique monthly power point lectures with open question and answer times included.

"The Music Never Stopped"

Based on a case study by Dr. Oliver Sacks, and featuring music from Bob Dylan, The Beatles and the Grateful Dead, The Music Never Stopped chronicles the heartwarming journey of a father, played by Henry Sawyer, and son, played by Lou Taylor Pucci, adjusting to cerebral trauma and a lifetime of missed opportunities. The father is unable to form new memories and a son unable to shed the beliefs and interests that caused their physical and emotional distance, they learn to connect through music.

The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. The Great Barrier Reef spans more than 1,200 miles (2,000 kilometers) of islands and submerged reefs. A plethora of coral thrives here, along with a sweep of parrotfish, surgeonfish, barracuda, and sharks. Come enjoy this majestic movie filled with memorizing scenes of the world below the water.

Bingo Mania
Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m.
Who can resist an afternoon of fun playing BINGO? Join us as we play 9 games. Bingo cards are $1.25 each or 5 cards for $5.  Refreshments served.  No reservations necessary.

Bunco Group
4th Thursday of the month, 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
If you can roll dice, you can play this fun, social game. Come and be a part of the game that is growing in popularity across the United States. $2.00 per play date. Call Bonnie, 468-4224, to join this group or add your name to the substitute list.

Chess Club
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Creston Village, 1919 Creston Road
Chess, a game of skill, is also a miniature history of medieval times. Each chess piece represents a cross section of the medieval life with its many ceremonies, grandeur, and wars. This club meets every week, all ages are welcome. Already a chess player or want to be, call Irwin, 238-3668.

Duplicate Bridge
Mondays and Thursdays, 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.
After summer Fridays, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Called "duplicate" because the same bridge hand is played multiple times, winners are determined by comparing your results with others who played the same hand. All are welcome to join us! Questions? Call Fred, 238-5400.

Mah Jongg
Tuesday’s, 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Mah Jongg Pieces
Rediscover what women of the 1950's recognized as a comfortable diversion and respite from life's everyday complexities. Mah Jongg, the cordial game whose clacking tiles brought countless people together around folding tables on porches and formica tables in kitchens, resoundingly clacks once again! It is fun, sociable, and relaxing. With patience and a few lessons, you can master the intricacies of Mah Jongg. Call Valerie at 237-8192 for more information.

Pinochle
Mondays and Thursdays, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Another “trick-taking” game, Pinochle is for two or four players and played with a 48-card deck. Each hand is played in three phases consisting of: bidding, melds, and tricks. Join us after lunch and play “Paso Robles Pinochle.” Call Jim at 434-0718 for more information

Tuesdays, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

4th Friday of the month, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
This club is a great way to connect with fellow book enthusiasts to discuss favorite books and authors, and discover new books. If you love books, then join us! For more information call Ferne, 238-3143.

Computer Club
2nd & 4th Tuesday, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
When it comes to computers, where do you turn for answers? If you are interested in learning or helping others learn more about the computer, you should definitely turn to the North County Computer Club! FREE computer assistance is offered, by appointment, on the Senior Center computers. Use these one-on-one tutoring sessions to cover basic to advanced computer skills. To schedule an appointment, call 237-3880.

Music Appreciation Series
Thursdays, 1-4 p.m.
Classes are FREE! We will listen to and discuss some of the great works. Information about the composers as well as some historical perspective will be given. However, the emphasis of these courses will be on the listening experience and the rewards it can bring in today’s hectic world.

Stamp Collecting
2nd and 4th Monday of the month, 9:00 a.m.
Challenge…information…friendships…and just plain fun are part of “the World’s Most Popular Hobby” - Stamp Collecting! This brand new club will set you on your way to becoming a fine philatelist! For more information call Lee, 239-9767
