Concerts in the Park - Summer 2009

The City of Paso Robles, REC Foundation and J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines are pleased to welcome back to their Concerts in the Park summer series smooth jazz recording artist, Bryan Savage. Having played sax and flute on over 20 albums, including Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steve Martin’s King Tut and others, his solo career skyrocketed in 1992, and Bryan has been called the “Saxiest” blower in the business.

His exclusive California performance will be held Friday, July 10th, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the City Park in downtown Paso Robles. Thanks to a sponsorship by Coldwell Banker Premier Real Estate, this special concert will be presented FREE! Cool Hand Luke’s restaurant will be offering hors d’oeuvres for sale, and J. Lohr wine, beer, water, and soda pop will also be available. All proceeds benefit the REC Foundation, which are used to enhance parks and recreation in the City of Paso Robles.

Please remember, dogs are not allowed in the City Park. Concerts in the Park are presented in cooperation with the Downtown Paso Robles Main Street Association.

Central Coast's Favorite Dance Band, The Mighty Croon Dogs

The City of Paso Robles, REC Foundation and J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines are pleased to welcome back the Central Coast's favorite dance band, The Mighty Croon Dogs. This energetic 4-piece band plays and sings all types of music, hitting their listeners all the way from the heart to their dancing shoes.

The Mighty Croon Dogs will be bringing the crowd to their feet on Friday, July 17th, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the City Park in downtown Paso Robles. Keller Williams Realty will be presenting this concert FREE! The Cinco de Mayo Scholarship Committee will be offering hors d’oeuvres for sale as part of their fundraising benefiting Paso Robles High School students. J. Lohr wine, beer, water, and soda pop will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the REC Foundation, enhancing parks and recreation in the City of Paso Robles.

Black Tie Bingo - Save the Date!

$65 ($55 for Senior Center Members)

It is with great pleasure and excitement that the City of Paso Robles Senior Advisory Committee is hosting its fourth annual Black-Tie BINGO fundraiser. The evening will start with a champagne cocktail reception, and the games begin at 7:00. There will be fifteen bingo games played and winners will receive luxury prizes valued at a minimum of $100. Enjoy complimentary wine, spectacular hors d’oeuvres, and desserts! For more information, call 237-3880.

Musical Theatre - The Fantastiks

The Fantasticks, the longest running musical in the world with music by Harvey Schmidt and Lyrics and Book by Tom Jones, is a romantic story set in a magical world. The performances are free to the public and will be held at the Centennial Park Amphitheater.

This event is co-sponsored by the REC Foundation & Library and Recreation Services Department. Note: The Fantasticks is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI, 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019.
