VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Looking for a great way to be part of your community and offer your services as well? Become a volunteer! The City of Paso Robles is always in need of volunteers to do everything from clerical tasks and library help to Community Patrol with the Police Department and membership on our various committees. Without volunteers, the City wouldnt be able to offer the quality or quantity of services it is able to. Volunteers are vital to our organization. Be part of it!
Adopt-A-Street
The Adopt-A-Street Program is a fun and worthwhile program that
gives individuals, companies, schools or organizations an
opportunity to adopt a City street and beautify a part of Paso
Robles in partnership with the City. Adoption requires litter
pickup on a section of street at least once a month for one year. This is a
great way to promote community pride and goodwill within your organization, and among
family and friends. For more information on the Adopt-A-Street program or to sign up,
visit the
Adopt-A-Street page.
Advisory Committees
The City has many advisory committees that are composed of dedicated community
members who volunteer their time. The committees are advisory bodies to the City
Council and provide important input regarding decisions to be made on specific issues
affecting the community at large as well as specific groups or interests such as
Senior Citizens, Teens, the Library and the Airport.
To learn more about the committees, check out the City Council Advisory Bodies page. It includes the purpose of each committee, when they meet and the terms of office.
To find out which committees will have vacancies due to term expiration during the year, download the following document, Advisory Committee Vacancies. This document is updated once a year per the Maddy Act and does not reflect those vacancies created by any other means (resignation, etc.) To apply for a committee, download and fill out the Advisory Committee Application [pdf:81k/1pp] and return it to the Office of the City Clerk. For questions regarding any vacancies, contact the City Clerk's Office at 237-3960.
Library
The library offers two volunteer
programs for adults and one for teens. Library Express!
is a six-week, two-hours per week, opportunity for adults to
assist staff in shelving materials, cleaning shelves, and
completing various tasks. The Ongoing Program is a
two-to-four-hours-per-week, one-year commitment for adults that
provides for a broader learning experience in many areas of
library service, from "up front and personal" to "behind the
scenes". Teen volunteers help with the reading incentive program
each summer. Wherever you choose to serve, volunteering in the
library will bring you learning opportunities, camaraderie,
challenges, and fun! For more information, visit the
Library
Services page.
