Registration Policies & Procedures
Pre-registration is required before the first day of class. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A Registration Form/Liability Waiver (PDF) must be signed and on file with the registration office before participation is allowed in any City program, class, activity, and/or special event sponsored or co-sponsored by the Community Services Department. No registration will be taken at any recreation class or program.
Activity Enrollment
A minimum number of participants is required to hold programs. Recreation Services reserves the right to cancel a program that does not meet this minimum and participants will receive a full refund or credit. It is highly recommended that you pre-register as early as possible to avoid programs being cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
Activity Refund
For ongoing classes, participants may drop the class after they attend the first meeting and receive a partial refund, but they must file for a refund before the second class. No refunds will be issued after the second class. If the participant cancels, he/she must contact the Centennial Park Registration Office at 805-237-3988, and will be subject to a minimum $7 service charge. A refund check will be mailed from the City Finance Department two weeks later. In order to avoid the $7 fee, a participant may choose to keep the money on account to be used for another class. For classes only meeting once, you must contact the Centennial Park Registration Office before the class starts.
Aquatic Cancellation / Refund
If your class has been cancelled by the department, you will receive a full refund or the choice to transfer to another aquatic activity. A refund check will be mailed from the City Finance Department two weeks later. All customer initiated cancellations are non-refundable, but credit may be applied to another activity offered.
Scholarships
Senior and youth scholarships are available for activities offered through Recreation Services. These scholarships are based upon meeting income eligibility requirements. Please call 805-237-3988 or stop by Centennial Park Registration Office for more information.
Exceptions to Pre-Registration
Paying the First Night of Class
It is possible that there may be some extenuating circumstances that prevented participants from pre-registering. Please keep in mind the following:
- Participant may only pay the instructor by check made out to the City of Paso Robles, which must be turned in to the Registration desk before the second class.
- A Registration Form/Liability Waiver (PDF) must be signed before participating.
Off-Site Registration
For the convenience of the participant, some classes that take place "off-site" have been pre-approved to take registration at the class.
Example
An exception has been made for off-site instructors at the indoor pool, and participants in the Gymnastics program. Any off-site registration must have prior approval of the Director of Community Services Department before the event. This does not change the requirement for a Liability Waiver to be signed and on file with Recreation Services before any participant will be allowed to participate in any City program, class, activity and/or special event sponsored or co-sponsored by Recreation Services. Any money collected must be turned in prior to the second class meeting.
