About Interlibrary Loans
Interlibrary Loans is a service that allows you to obtain a broader range of items that are not available in the Black Gold Cooperative Library System, do not qualify for ZIP Books, but may be available from other library systems. This service is available to anyone with a valid Paso Robles City Library card. There is a service fee of $8.00 per item.
Interlibrary Loan Requests Are:
Books (excluding textbooks)/Audiobooks
Items in Special Collections
Locating and receiving a requested item usually takes from 4 to 8 weeks. Although every effort will be made, no request is guaranteed. You will be notified if your request cannot be filled.
Requesting Interlibrary Loan Materials
Step 1. Fill out the Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
Step 2. Within one week, a Library Staff member will confirm that your request has been processed.
Step 3. You will be notified when the requested material is ready for pick-up.
Returning Interlibrary Loan Materials
Return the item to a Staff Member at the Paso Robles City Library during open hours and identify the item as an Interlibrary Loan. (Please do not return the item to a book drop.)
The loan period for Interlibrary Loan material is three weeks. Renewal requests must be made in person and with the borrowing material. Renewal options are determined by the lending library. Not all items are renewable.
Interlibrary Loan materials are subject to an overdue fee as charged by the lending library. Charges for lost, damaged or stolen material is subject to the lending library’s costs, rules and regulations, and are the responsibility of the borrowing patron.
