PASO ROBLES, CA – The City of Paso Robles is hiring seasonal staff for their 2021 Summer Aquatics Programs. 

Several positions are available at both of the City’s pools, including Lifeguards/Swim Instructors, Assistant Pool Managers and Pool Office Assistants. Complete job descriptions and applications are now available at www.prcity.com/278/Aquatics. The application deadline is April 12, 2021

“We’re so excited that we’re able to offer swim lessons, aqua fit classes, and lap swimming this summer; due to current restrictions, we will not be providing public swim this year.” said Recreation Manager, Lynda Plescia. “We are planning to open both pools Monday through Friday, June 21st through August 13th. We’re looking forward to adding new members to our awesome Summer staff, and happy to be able to offer great summer jobs for young people in Paso Robles.” 

The City will also offer two Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses. The first session will run April 5th through 8th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The second session will run April 9th through 11th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Both classes will be held at Paso Robles Municipal Pool (534 28th Street). The cost of the class is $100 (includes certificate fee) and is designed for experienced swimmers who want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Advanced skills and lifesaving techniques will be taught and tested. Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications will be awarded upon the successful completion of the course. Prerequisites for the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Training class include the ability to swim 300 yards of the pool using front crawl and/or breaststroke, retrieval of a ten pound brick from seven feet of water and two minutes of treading water with no hands. Participants must be 15 years old by April 5, 2021 to be eligible for this training.
