PASO ROBLES, CA August 10, 2022 On safari in southern Africa in July 2019, Cheryl Strahl and her husband, Richard, were privileged to see rare white lions in the Timbavati Game Reserve. They were told by their professional guides that only three white lions were known to exist in the wild—and they saw two of them, both cubs. Their photography exhibit, entitled "The White Lions & Other Cats of Southern Africa," includes poignant and captivating images of the white lion cubs as well as other amazing wild cats sighted in both South Africa and Botswana.
A retired software engineer, Strahl is an “in-the-moment” photographer who finds inspiration in nature. “Both great lighting in beautiful scenery and encounters with amazing wildlife invoke an emotion in me that is so good for my soul. There is nothing else like it. Photography is my passion. And there is never a shortage of subjects - both here on the Central Coast and traveling to all corners of the world,” Strahl states.
