Is there anyone at the library during the closure?
Staff is on site Monday-Friday, 10-5, to answer account inquiries.
Will my library account expire?
As long as you are a regular user of the library, your account should not expire in the way that other accounts with expiration dates do. The library does remove inactive accounts from the database on an annual basis.
Can I drop items off at the library book drops?
Yes, but patrons are encouraged to keep their items until the library reopens.
What if my items are due during the closure?
All items currently checked out have had their due dates extended until May 4. The library no longer charges overdue fines for late materials. Patrons are encouraged to keep items currently checked out until the library reopens.I owe money. If I cannot come in to pay, will I be sent to collections?
If you receive a bill for an item, or already owed money to the library prior to our closure, please call 805-237-3870 to speak with staff. Can I place a hold while the library is closed?
The library may not be able to fulfill requests at this time, but patrons are encouraged to create a list of items they’d like to request once the library reopens. To do this, follow these simple steps:
- Go to www.prcity.com and then My Library Account (on the left side)
- Log in with your 14-digit card number and password
- Click on Create New Saved List (on the left side) and then Okay
- Give your list a name
I have items on hold. Will they still be there when the library reopens?
More than one list can be created. Search the catalog as usual. Add to List will be an option under Where Is It? and More Information.
Yes. We will extend the period that all items remain on hold so that you have adequate time to pick them up once we reopen. Please disregard the pick-up date listed on your account.
Can the library increase Hoopla and Overdrive lending limits during the closure?
The library is currently not increasing eLibrary access, but some platforms such as Hoopla are offering access to free titles that do not count against your checkout limits.
Are you still accepting donations?
No, we are unable to accept donations at this time.
