Paso Robles City Council Special Meeting Highlights for December 10, 2020
Highlights from the Special City Council meeting, held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, are as follows. The City Council took the following actions:
Provided Direction Regarding Business Viability and the Governor’s New Stay at Home Order. Council received a presentation on the State’s Regional Stay at Home Order, its regulations, and the local impacts it is having on local businesses. Council heard from 35-40 public callers, most speaking about significant impacts of State regulations on their businesses. After some discussion of the issues at play, Council directed staff to maintain compliance with Purple Tier restriction levels; to work with other cities in the County to send a letter to the State requesting that San Luis Obispo be immediately removed from the Southern California region that the state is using to measure ICU capacity; to continue partnerships with the Chamber of Commerce and community stakeholders for education and outreach to local businesses regarding compliance; to act consistently with the County Public Health Officer’s definition of what “egregious violations” of the health orders are; and to reconsider this direction if the local situation (such as hospital capacity) or new State guidance warrants reconsideration. At the December 15th City Council meeting, business assistance and economic recovery measures will be considered.
The next regular City Council meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 15th at 6:30 pm, via livestream at www.prcity.com/youtube. Public comment can be made during the meeting by 805-865-PASO (7276) or provided prior to the meeting by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
