PUBLIC HEARING - RedistrictingEvery ten years, City Council election districts must be redrawn so that each district is substantially equal in population. This process, called redistricting, is important in ensuring that each city councilmember represents about the same number of constituents. $2.8MM Grant for BroadbandThe United States Department of Commerce announced Sept. 16 that it will award the city of Paso Robles $2.8 million to expand broadband access and reliability in the city. The Paso Robles broadband project will fund the installation of nearly 11,500 feet of new fiber optic cables in the city’s existing underground conduit, as well 52,500 feet of additional fiber optic cable in a new underground conduit to support the needs of the business community and residents within the city. Library Services SurveyThe Paso Robles City Library invites the public to participate in the Library’s strategic planning process to identify and address the community’s current and future information needs. The first phase of community outreach is a survey in English or Spanish (hard copy available in the Library). Women’s Volleyball LeagueJoin us for this competitive women's volleyball league. Players must register together as a team by the first night of play (minimum of six players per team). Ukulele Boot CampBy the end of this 3-hour camp students will have learned several beginning songs and have gained the confidence to join any of the many jam-along groups that meet locally on a regular basis. Don't own a ukulele? No problem! Just notify the instructor in advance to make arrangements to borrow a ukulele during class (with the option to purchase). Library Book Group Reads: Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia Zoom meetup: Thursday, October 21, 6-7 pm. Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles is using a new translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and will now be available to all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
