Cannabis Forum and Survey The City of Paso Robles is seeking community feedback on a possible expansion of cannabis regulations. A community forum is planned for Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at 1000 Spring Street or virtually at www.prcity.com/youtube, and a Resident Survey is available now through September 5, 2022.

Union/Golden Hill Detours & FAQsThe intersection at Golden Hill and Union is closed for construction. Please use posted detours to avoid impacting residential neighborhoods. UPDATE: Centennial Creek RepairsThe Centennial Park trail closures for the Centennial Creek repair project have been changed to better accommodate student access to campuses. The trail closures will now take place as follows: - Closure Lower Portion (Nickerson to Navajo): August 22 - October 31, 2022
- Closure Upper Portion (Nickerson to Lana):
July 15 – September 30, 2023

Public Hearing - CannabisThe Paso Robles Planning Commission is holding a scheduled public hearing to consider recommending an amendment to the Municipal Code that would allow delivery-only commercial cannabis within the Riverside Corridor (RC) and the C-3 district, subject to the review and approval of a conditional use permit. New Public Works DirectorThe City of Paso Robles has appointed a new Director of Public Works and has established a new Utilities Department. Freda Berman was selected to replace Christopher Alakel as Public Works Director after an internal recruitment. Alakel will head the newly-created Utilities Department. Berman has been with the City since 2004 and most recently served as the Parks Maintenance Supervisor. More information

Hypnosis 101This introductory hypnosis class is taught by instructor Art Kuhns, a certified specialist in hypnosis and PTSD by the American Hypnosis Association. The class will cover a brief history of hypnosis, what hypnosis is (and isn’t) and the benefits of hypnosis. During this class you will learn how to hypnotize yourself and others. Aqua Jam at Municipal PoolThis popular Aqua Zumba class offered by instructor Jennifer Loewen Nicolds provides a low impact water workout packed with cardio and toning exercises set to great music. This class will happen at Municipal Pool (534 28th Street) every Tuesday and Thursday from noon-12:50 p.m. through Thursday, September 29. $45 for a 10-punch pass or $5 drop in. Bring a hat, towel and bathing suit. Punch passes available for purchase in person at the Centennial Park registration desk Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. Learn more here

Youth Evolution Soccer and BasketballJoin the Youth Evolution coaches for the first session of fall classes. We’ll be offering three levels of basketball in the Centennial Park Gym beginning Tuesday, August 30 or four levels of soccer classes for ages 2.5 to 11 beginning Friday, September 2 in the Centennial Park Gym. Your child will learn age-appropriate skills through drills and games designed for their age group while having fun in a nurturing environment. 5-week sessions/$100 ($10 sibling discount). West Coast Creative AcademyThrough a new partnership with the West Coast Creative Academy, nine unique and magical classes have been added to our fall schedule. These offerings include Dance, Musical Theatre, Mini Musician, Music and Movement and Art Around the World. Each class is designed to nurture the creative spark in your child . All classes are presented in a 12-week session beginning the first week of September and are offered at $180 (sibling discounts and scholarships available). Days and times vary by class. Library Book Group Reads: The Clover Girls by Viola Shipman Wednesday, August 17 Library Conference Room, 6-7 p.m. Elizabeth, Veronica, Rachel, and Emily met at Camp Birchwood as girls in 1985, where over four summers they were the Clover Girls—inseparable for those magical few weeks of freedom—until the last summer that pulled them apart. Perhaps some friendships aren’t meant to last forever . . . The title is available in various formats through the catalog. Space is limited. Registration is required for each participant. For ages 16+.

Translation Services AvailableThe City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
