Paso PD and Fire Assisting with California Wildfires

The Paso Robles Police Department and Emergency Services are assisting with the many fires occurring throughout California.  PRPD helped with evacuations for and Emergency Services are currently assisting with the Woolsey Fire in Ventura Co. Please keep our law enforcement, fire personnel, and fellow California residents in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with these terrible fires.

Community Meeting to Draft of Noise Element

The Paso Robles Planning Commission will be hosting its second "Study Session" for the Noise Element Update to gather resident input and help with the Noise Element update and preparation of a new Noise Ordinance. The meeting takes place November 27 at 6:30 PM at 1000 Spring Street.

City Council Reorganization

Official results of the November 6th election, including ballot measures, have not yet been certified. However we will be welcoming and swearing in new City Council member Maria Garcia at the December 5, 2018 meeting.

Please join us to extend a warm welcome to Maria! 

Election results will be certified by December 6, 2018, if not sooner.

Community Meetings to Discuss Changing to District Elections

Prompted by a lawsuit, the City is transitioning from the current at-large system of electing the City Council to a by-district election model. The first two of many informational meetings and public hearings are scheduled for November 20December 5 and December 10 at 6PM, so please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information and confirmed locations.

Community Meeting to Draft of Sherwood Park Master Plan

After multiple rounds of community meetings to gather input and ideas, the project designer has come up with two sets of plans for the Sherwood Park area and the City invites residents and elected officials to review, discuss and decide which ideas should be incorporated into the final plan.  The meeting takes place on December 12, 2018 at 6:30 PM at 1000 Spring Street.

Street Repair Updates

Vine Street behind Georgia Brown School that was formerly dirt has been paved and four streetlights were also installed there.

The much needed repair of the surface of Sherwood from Creston to Fontana is also complete. 

Both projects were repaired using the Supplemental Sales Tax passed by the Community in 2012.

Roundabouts vs. 4-way Stops

Drivers in California are naturally cautious about round-abouts, we just don’t have a lot of them yet.  Basically, roundabouts are a series of yield controlled right turns.

Planning Commission Meeting: Public Workshop - Noise Element and Ordinance
November 27, 2018, 6:30 PM-8:30 PM @ Library Conference Center
The City of Paso Robles will be hosting its second Planning Commission "Study Session" for the Noise Element Update to gather resident input. This Study Session will feature a presentation of Draft Noise Goals and Policies based on data from the Community Noise Inventory completed over the summer that measured noise and vibration in and around the City (from the Fair concerts, Vina Robles, railroad, etc.). Input gathered at this session will help with the Noise Element update and preparation of a new Noise Ordinance.

Mail Your Letter to Santa at Centennial Park

This season, Santa’s elves have installed a special mailbox in the Centennial Park lobby for your child’s letters to the North Pole.  Bring your child to drop-off their letter to Santa between noon and 5 pm Monday through Friday, December 3 through 21.  We’ll have a special holiday treat from Santa’s elves just for them.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Join Recreation Services and the Paso Robles Police Department for this annual holiday tradition.  We’ll welcome Santa in his sleigh to Centennial Park on Thursday, December 13 from 6-7:30 pm.  This free event will feature holiday give-aways, treats and of course a photo op with the big man himself.  Santa and his sleigh will also visit Oak Park on Monday, December 17 from 6-7:30 pm.

Holiday Hospitality Days at Centennial Park

Join Recreation Services for seasonal holiday treats, coffee and conversation in the Centennial Park main lobby from 9 am-6 pm on five special days this season: Tuesday, November 27 • Monday, December 3 • Wednesday, December 12 • Thursday, December 20 • Friday, December 21.  While you’re visiting, pick-up a winter/spring Recreation Guide or purchase a recreation gift certificate for that special someone on your list.

Frozen Fun Coronation Party

Celebrate the joy of the holiday season with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna during this holiday coronation event.  There will be Olaf and Sven balloon critters, a craft table for little ones to decorate their ice queen crowns or reindeer antlers and of course cookies, cocoa, cider and chocolate.  For ages 3-10.  Thursday, December 20 from 5-7pm.  $25 + $5 supply fee ($5 sibling discount).  Register Here!

Meet Your Parking Ambassador

Donna King with the Paso Robles Police Department is the newly appointed downtown Parking Ambassador and will be gathering and analyzing parking data, educating downtown employees and business owners on the new Employee Parking Pilot Program and, when necessary, issuing warnings or citations to those who park in permit stalls without a permit. Reminder - the downtown parking pilot program goes into effect on December 1. So far 150 downtown employees have signed up to participate!

The Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association (Main Street) provides Downtown Ambassador Karyl Lammers as a host to residents and visitors to our downtown. Karyl offers information on "Everything Downtown" including directions, recommendations, event information and referrals for relocating your home or business to Paso Robles. She swears she has the best job in town. You can read her monthly reports here.
