Winter Storms Approaching

The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services warns residents of a series of storms expected to bring from 3 to 8 inches of rain between Friday, January 11 and Thursday, January 17. Those that reside in low lying areas prone to flooding are advised to take precautionary measures in advance of these storms: prepping sandbags, clearing storm drains and gutters, having safe alternative lighting and heating options in the event of power outages. ALL Residents are advised to stay clear of the river bed. Details

Celebrating the Legacy of MLK

On Saturday, January 19, 2019 please join your neighbors in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This free, annual community event is a chance to honor Dr. King by congregating and enjoying music, art and education. This year's event theme is "I Am...Because of His Legacy." The event kicks off with a March for Unity at noon, followed by a program. Details

Planning Commission Accepting Applications

The City of Paso Robles is now accepting applications for appointment to the Planning Commission.  Appointments will be for 3-year terms expiring February 28, 2022.  Applications are due on Wednesday, January 25, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Paso Robles City Hall, 1000 Spring Street, Paso Robles, CA 93446. Build a Boundary Map for the Change to By-District Elections

Driven by a legal challenge, the City is transitioning from the current at-large system of electing the City Council to a by-district election model. We need residents to submit boundary maps for the districts by March 1.

Film Shoot at 28th & Spring

A student film crew from CSUMB is filming at the Paradise Grill on January 30 - February 3, 2019. The project is a film called "Open" and centers on 14 strangers who come together at an ordinary diner on election night 2016. The issues addressed in this film are racism, immigration and misogyny.

The Planning Commission has specified land use-related decision making authority. In Paso Robles, the Planning Commission has final decision making responsibility for actions that are not legislative. The Planning Commission’s decisions can be appealed to the City Council.

New Rec Class Offered

Join Recreation Services and Yvette Madrigal for a new Mommy & Me-style class called Babies & Moms at the Barre on Mondays at 9 a.m. This baby-wearing or baby watching exercise class is perfect for new mamas and their little ones (up to age one).  There will be a mix of stretching, basic ballet and Pilates exercises designed to rebuild strength in abdominals and increase flexibility.  $90/10 punch pass allows moms to join at any time and come when they’re able.  Details

Concerts in the Park Call for Talent

The City of Paso Robles is seeking musical talent for the 2019 Concerts in the Park season.  This highly popular family-friendly concert series attracted over 25,000 attendees in the summer of 2018.  These free shows feature a wide variety of local and regional musical entertainment performing in the Paso Robles City Park gazebo. Musicians interested in consideration for the 2019 season must submit a press kit by Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

Saturday Fun for Teens and Adults

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 26 and enjoy two great programs! First, learn to knit or crochet from 10:30-noon. Supplies will be provided, or bring your projects. Then, from 1:00-4:00 p.m., play the table top game, Forbidden Desert, in which a legendary flying machine must be recovered from the ruins of an ancient city. Registration is recommended. For ages 13+.

This Month’s Maker Monday Activity 

Children ages 7-12 are invited to learn how to make kinetic sand on Monday, January 28, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Story Hour Room. Maker Mondays are the fourth Monday of every month. The program is limited to the first 30 participants. Free admission tickets are available at the Children’s Desk beginning at 3:30 pm the day of the program.

The Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association (Main Street) provides Downtown Ambassador Karyl Lammers as a host to residents and visitors to our downtown. Karyl offers information on "Everything Downtown" including directions, recommendations, event information and referrals for relocating your home or business to Paso Robles. You can read her Downtown Ambassador Reports here

Visitors Center Report

The City contracts with the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce to provide hospitality to visitors to our area in the form of a full-service visitors' center downtown. The Paso Robles Visitors Center is located at 1225 Park Street and provides local information, directions, recommendations and business referrals along with business and residential relocation services and information. You can view the Visitor Center quarterly reports here.
